Why Should You Start An Omnia Chapter?
Running an in-person chapter of Omnia at your high school builds a strong community of art-loving scientists like you!
- Manage a team of writers, editors, and artists at your school! Lead members of your chapter in creating artwork, polishing articles, and more. You and your officers will gain real leadership experience.
- Our founding staff frequently hosts science-art projects and activities in person. Join the fun and organize them for your community!
- Earn volunteer hours for making art! We operate with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so Omnia Magazine is authorized to give you & members of your chapter volunteer hours!
How to Start A Chapter
- Find 3+ other people from your high school who are interested in starting an Omnia chapter with you.
Your school might have requirements for officers when registering a club, such as a vice president, secretary, and treasurer.
Omnia requires that, at a minimum, each chapter has a Lead Editor (the club president), an assistant editor (vice president), a writer, and an illustrator or photographer. Your chapter can grow to include general members, too! - Fill out the Chapter Interest Form and schedule an interview!
Once we review your application, we’ll have a short (15-20 minute) video call. You’ll get the opportunity to ask us anything. We’re very excited to meet you!

When your club is established, we’ll send you our resources for quality standards, conduct, and submission systems. Start creating & collecting submissions with your members!
Chapter Lead Responsibilities
Once your Omnia chapter is up and running, Lead Editors are expected to:
- Attend official training meetings (Zoom with our founding team)
- Follow publishing deadlines
- Maintain quality standards
- Manage & engage your members

FAQs
Do you need publishing experience to start a chapter?
Nope! Omnia was our first magazine, and will be the first publishing experience for many teenagers. Our community will help us all grow as artists and scientists.
Can my branch do independent activities?
All activities need to be approved by our official staff before chapters carry them out. Make sure to report them to us so we can give you volunteer hours!
