A set of polaroids surround the word "Make", reading "Builds and innovations", "3D modeling", "design and innovation", and "DIY projects".

I’m so excited to announce the theme of Omnia’s third issue: Make!

This theme was inspired by the Maker movement, which celebrates individuals who create and design their own projects and crafts. It’s like a more technology-focused branch of DIY culture.

“The maker movement, as we know, is the umbrella term for independent inventors, designers and tinkerers.” Joan Voight, Adweek 2014

This issue, Omnia will showcase work from teens who create in many different ways. Whether it be a sketch, a 3D model, or a physical build, we encourage submissions from all creative media. We’d love to see anything you made yourself!

Here are some ideas to inspire you:

  • A robot, mechanism, or simple circuit you built.
  • A game or website you coded yourself.
  • A set of design sketches or concept art for something you want to build. You can be creative with the medium of choice, like 3D modeling or painting.
  • Architectural or environmental designs.

Hi! I’m Sasha, a high-school sophomore from San Diego, and the Founder/Editor-in-Chief of Omnia Magazine.

I started Omnia to demonstrate that art and science aren’t trade-offs. We inspire others to explore science through art by providing a platform for all high school students to publish.
